Wang marked her birthday while shopping at Prada in Paris, wearing a sleek black crop top and matching skirt, her hair swept back with a black headband, and finishing the youthful look with black sunglasses, a matching bag, and shoes.
She captioned the post: “When shopping at PRADA in PARIS …. Avenue Montaigne … 35 meters from my airconditioning …. trying to be a bit fashionyyyy.”
Just days before, the designer shared a carousel of snaps capturing her intimate birthday dinner at Le Relais Plaza in Paris, surrounded by close friends.
One picture shows Wang blowing out candles, while another captures her unwrapping gifts and posing happily with her pals.
She captioned the post: “A smallish cake for another big birthday!”
Considering the designer just turned 76, people can’t quite believe how youthful she looks.
One person wrote: “Are you getting younger each year Vera? Happy birthday.”
A second said: “I want to be this hot at 76, wowzers!”
While a third added: “Jaw dropped to the floor when I saw the 76… Thought you were like 30!”
In an interview with the BBC, Wang shared what she considers her secret to staying youthful: “We did not have social media, and everybody did not age right before your very eyes, and everybody was not critical,” she said. “It was really more about finding your way.”
Reflecting on how perspectives on aging have shifted, she added: “I do not see that obsession with ageing that I have felt for the last two decades.”
While many credit her ageless glow to expensive skincare or a rigorous fitness routine, Wang has a refreshingly relatable approach to aging.
In 2020, she told Instagram followers that her secrets to the fountain of youth included: “work, sleep, a vodka cocktail, not much sun.”
In October 2023, she told Page Six Style: “I do eat McDonald’s, absolutely,” revealing that she will “order it every day” for “two weeks” before changing up her diet.
She also shared her love for Dunkin’ Donuts, revealing “cream-filled, sugar-coated doughnut” is her go-to sweet treat.
Wang also revealed that her beauty regimen is refreshingly low-maintenance.
“I’m pretty minimal, I have to say,” she told Page Six. “Maybe it’s because I’m Asian, but I’ve always been pretty minimal. Soap, some cleanser, but I don’t do 18 steps! I know that’s the thing to do now, but it’s never been a part of my regime.”
And in 2023, the designer admitted she was taken aback by the viral reaction to her youthful appearance.
“I guess it’s just that people have an idea of what 70 looks like today,” she told PEOPLE. “I have so many friends that are 65 to 70 that look fabulous. But I have to say that hopefully, it’s a good thing.”
“I hope it makes women feel more comfortable with themselves or are confident, or there are many definitions of what a woman can be,” she added.
